Here are my tips to surviving a vacation
(specifically one that has a lot of emphasis on food)
- BE PREPARED! The best thing you can do is to prepare yourself for it. If you know going into a vacation that there will be a lot of temptation having a plan will allow you to stay on track.
- CHEAT…. wait, did I just say that? Well what I meant was to let the last day be a “free” day. I find that if I “cheat” during the first part of a vacation I tend to throw in the towel and make poor choices the entire time. Having the last day be a day you can have whatever you want gives you something to look forward to and eliminates an entire week of poor nutrition.
- BE ACCOUNTABLE. My Mom was a beautiful example of this during our trip. She wanted to stick to her daily nutrition plan so she asked me to help her. I was so proud of her for making wise choices and kept cheering her on throughout the trip.
- MOVE. Day 1: Vacation Survival Bootcamp Day 2: Yoga/stretching Day3: take a jog for 30-45min Day 4: Vacation Survival Bootcamp Day 5: Yoga/stretching Day 6: Sprint Circuit
