What’s your New Years Resolution?

Have you already fallen off track with it? According to Forbes, an average of only 8% of people who start a new year with a resolution ever follow through and complete it. Have you ever considered trying something different? Instead of doing a New Year’s resolution, how about picking a “Word of the Year”. That means living out one word for a full 365 days.  Having one word is very effective at changing your life because you can apply it in almost every aspect. It’s important to pick a word that can apply and make your life better right now. By picking only one Word for the year, it narrows our focus. So instead of 5 different resolutions that you can’t even keep track of, you now have only one word to focus on.

Once you pick out the word you are being “called to” after some careful consideration, you need to write it down in multiple places where you will see it throughout the day. This could be the mirror in the bathroom, wallpaper on your phone, or even hang a sign on the refrigerator.

My word for the year is Faith. By doing this, I now have this word in the back of my mind for the whole year and can apply it in every situation and not get discouraged when things don’t go as planned because my Faith is outweighing my troubles. Best of luck picking out your word and applying this technique in the new year!

Kim Wagler

Kim began her career as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She then graduated from Malone University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Adult Fitness and a minor in Community Health. Upon graduation she found herself as the owner of Impulse and a part of an amazing team of health professionals. Her intention was to simply get people in shape which quickly evolved into a passion for helping people gain back control of their lives. As her mission grew so did her team, her facility size was quadrupled, and soon she was joined by her husband, additional trainers, therapists, and a dietician. Together they have created a positive training experience where everyone can achieve incredible and lasting results. Kim brings passion, expertise, and honesty to a new level as a fitness coach and leader in the fitness industry!
